THE INVISIBLES — A Poem About Museums

For some reason

I am fascinated by

The men and women in blue

Who stand in every other

Gallery

Presumably there to observe and

Protect priceless works of art

It fascinates me

That we don't see them

They are invisible to us

Are they any less valuable

Being of flesh and blood

Than an oil on canvas ?

Which sits inaminate and attracts

Our most esteemed

Attention ?
